How to play Comeback Soccer
Comeback Sports' coed league will observe modified FIFA rules. We have organized over 3,000 soccer games and championship tournaments over the last 6 years in the south sound. The Comeback experience is built upon what is truly great about this sport: teamwork.
Comeback Sports’ Co-ed Soccer League will observe FIFA rules with the following exceptions:
8v8 format games will be comprised of two (2) twenty-five (25) minute halves, with a five (5) minute half-time break in between.
Time will be kept by the referee.
11v11 format games will consist of two 40 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
NO SLIDE TACKLES will be allowed.
Coed gender requirements consist of 3 female players for 8v8 formats and 4 female players for 11v11 formats.
If a team has less female players than the gender requirement then that team will play down 1 player for each missing female player.
No Offsides will be played for only the modified 8v8 formats.
8v8 field dimensions are approximately 50 x 90 yards. Full size or modified sized goals may be used.
11v11 field dimensions are approximately 110-120 yards long by 55-65 yards wide.
Unlimited substitutions are allowed.
All players must be listed on your team roster. You may make changes to your team roster up until week four of play. Playing with non roster players will result in a 2-0 forfeit loss for your team. Disputes must be made to the referee prior to the start of the game.
In order to be eligible to play in any playoff game: All players must be listed on your team roster and must have played in at least 1 regular season game. Disputes must be made to the referee prior to the game or within the first 10 minutes of play.
A player receiving a red card will receive a minimum 1 game suspension. All incidents will be reviewed to assess further league suspensions if necessary.
Shin guards are mandatory and socks must be pulled up to cover the shin guards. -Goal kicks may be taken from either side of the box.
The goalie cannot pick up or touch any ball with their hands that was intentionally kicked or thrown to them by a teammate. If the teammate intentionally plays the ball to the goalie with any other part of the body (e.g. headers) then the goalie is allowed to pick up the ball.
